Designing from the Ground Up

As the sole designer on the RideON project, I was responsible for defining the user experience, crafting the visual identity, and designing every screen of the mobile platform from scratch.

  • User Flow Mapping: I designed clear user journeys for all core functions booking a ride, scheduling a future ride, and sending a package to ensure each flow was intuitive and required minimal effort.

  • Ride & Delivery Interfaces: Separate interfaces were created for ride-hailing and package delivery, each optimized with context-aware inputs and real-time tracking to guide users through the process.

  • Simplified Onboarding: Given the broad target audience including first-time app users I focused on a frictionless onboarding process with clear prompts and simple account creation.

  • Visual Design for Trust & Clarity: The interface uses bright, inviting colors and large interactive elements for better visibility and touch responsiveness. Icons and illustrations were used to reinforce trust and guide users through actions.

  • Localization for Nigerian Users: Content, features, and visual elements were designed with the local context in mind from currency formats to common transport lingo to ensure relevance and relatability

Shaping the Rider Experience

The launch of RideON marked a fresh and tech-enabled approach to motorcycle transportation and local delivery in Nigeria. Though still in its early rollout phase, the design has received positive feedback from stakeholders and early users for its clarity, ease of use, and clean visual experience. The app's simplified ride and delivery flow has helped reduce user drop-offs during booking, while the scheduling and tracking features have added a layer of trust and control that’s often missing in informal okada systems.
