Project Snapshot
Speedy Card Lister AI is a productivity tool built to help sports card sellers streamline the process of listing their cards on eBay. It uses artificial intelligence to recognize card details from an image automatically extracting relevant information such as player name, card number, brand, and year. This eliminates the need for manual data entry and speeds up the listing workflow significantly.
Understanding the Challenge
Selling sports cards on eBay is a popular hustle, but the listing process is tedious and time-consuming especially for high-volume sellers. Each card requires manual input: identifying the card, writing a description, uploading images, assigning the right price, and making sure it fits into eBay’s category system. While some sellers get by with tools and templates, most still rely on manual processes and guesswork. The core issues we identified were:
No Efficient Way to Extract Card Info
Lack of Automation for eBay Listings
Time-Consuming for Bulk Sellers
Inconsistent Listings
What I Brought to the Table
At its core, Speedy Card Lister AI solves a major pain point for sports card sellers by using artificial intelligence to recognize card details from an image and provide a fast, seamless way to list them on eBay. The product significantly reduces the time and friction associated with manual listings.
When I joined the Speedy Card Lister AI team, several foundational screens had already been designed. My role was to take those initial layouts and evolve them into a more refined, scalable, and intuitive product experience while also designing entirely new features as the product matured.
Here’s a closer look at the areas I focused on:
Product-Wide Design Refinement
When I joined the team, I conducted a full audit of all existing designs to identify areas for improvement in clarity, consistency, and usability. Key improvements included:
Visual Consistency: Cleaned up spacing, standardized font sizes, button styles, and iconography to create a cohesive UI language.
Improved User Flow: Refactored navigation and screen hierarchy to reduce friction in the listing process and make the experience feel more intuitive.
Creating Responsive Layouts: Ensured the interface worked seamlessly across devices especially since many sellers operate from tablets or phones.
New Feature Design
I led the end-to-end design of several new features that added major value to the product such as:
Onboarding & Subscription Plans: I redesigned the onboarding and subscription flow to make it easier for users to understand their options and get started with a plan smoothly.
Batch Listing Flow: I enhanced the batch upload experience, allowing users to scan and list multiple cards more efficiently with better upload feedback and clearer error handling.
Listing History & Management: I designed a full-featured listing history system that includes scheduled listings, failed listings, and unlisted cards—giving users control over their entire listing lifecycle.
Inventory Data Management: I designed the functionality that allows users to export their inventory data into various formats, making it easier for them to back up, analyze, or use their data outside the platform.
Early Wins & User Reception
Speedy Card Lister AI officially launched recently, and while it's still early to quantify the long-term impact, the product has already begun gaining traction within the sports card seller community. Since launch, over 700 users have been onboarded and are actively using the platform to streamline their eBay listing workflow. Early feedback has been positive, especially around the accuracy of the AI details extraction which significantly reduces listing time, the ease of integration with eBay and the clean and intuitive interface, which helps new users onboard quickly and get value fast.
